Students in grades 3-8 and 11th will begin taking the Smarter Balance English language and math assessment in March 2019. The State of Oregon passed a law allowing parents to opt their students out of taking these assessments. A letter describing this process as well as the importance of these assessments, has been sent home with students in grades 3-8 and 11.
Parents/guardians who wish to opt their students out of taking this assessment are asked to come to the school, discuss the decision with our principal, Mr. Stelle and pick up the required opt-out form from the school office. This form must be completed and turned into the school office before assessment begins.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Stelle if you have any concerns/questions or if there is anything else he may do to further support you.
