Teachers and Parents Teaming for Success
Teachers will use Common Core Standards and their knowledge of how children learn to give all students the best education possible.
Teachers will hold conferences in November and March; they will share with parents school expectations, student progress, and ideas to help children learn at home.
Teachers will send home report cards.
Teachers will be available by email or phone before school and by appointment to discuss student progress with parents.
Teachers will give parents ideas for helping inside or outside the classroom. Parents are welcome to observe, discuss concerns, or help.
Parents will make sure students have breakfast and know how to log onto their class meeting by 9 am. Breakfast can be picked up between 12 and 1 the previous school day at various spots around the district.
Parents will notify the teacher before 9:30 am when a child is absent.
Parents will make sure students get at least 9 hours of sleep every night.
Parents will attempt to give students a quiet place to do schoolwork.
Parents will limit TV, non-school internet, and video games to about 1 hour a day; they will keep an eye on them to make sure they are okay for kids, using TV and video ratings as guides.
Parents will regularly check their email, phone, and child’s classroom (Seesaw, Google Classroom, or Newrow) for information from the school.
Parents will attend parent-teacher conferences.
